Pattern in Nature by the Spider's Web

Nature's Pattern : Spider and its Web

The word nature has a broad meaning and we always see it wherever we go, and whatever we do, we always have connection from each other. Perhaps we cannot able to see what's within in the nature, but the nature itself tells us everything what they could offer for our needs, and how amazing they are, like acquiring and obtaining some unique patterns. Some products of the nature are the spiders and its webs, and it has amazing pattern that if you watch them making their web, they just make circular movement starting from the center and move a bit distance. They repeat and repeat it up to the last part of their web to make an incredible defense to catch foods and protect themselves against the enemy. Their web is such an astonishing outcome of their (spiders) hard work , and the spider itself has also a unique pattern, just try to observe.

WE ARE HUMAN, NOT ONLY YOU, MAN (A Poem Promoting Gender Equality)

WE ARE HUMAN, NOT ONLY YOU, MAN
by Abdola M. Salipada

Imagine there are no women,
It’s like having sun without the rain
Imagine the world has only men,
Would it pours the rain through the grain?

Flowers need the sunlight and water to bloom
Palaces need metals and stones to form
So as humanities, a woman need a man, vice versa
Different identities but the same aura.

We are all humans
Gays, bisexual, transgender, queer, and lesbians
Seeking for equality and human rights
Sadly, people hide it from their sights.

We search for a job to feed our family
But, they search for a person who is manly
Trying to apply as a secretary
But, they prefer an applicant who is girly.

We are all humans
Digging for the balance and acceptance
Hoping the world would cooperate
As if it would help to boost our fate.

People wished a life in harmony,
But refused to embrace diversity
People want to avoid toxic,
But they, themselves are plastics, isn’t it ironic?

We are all humans
We quest for love and romance,
We get jealous and feel the pain
But it’s not yet the end, we’ll try to love again.

The world is wide and changing,
For people who hunt equality is dying
We need to be accepted and have equal treatment
And to change your mindset is the only requirement.

We need to kill stereotyping,
And revive for a new beginning
Offer your hands to different palms,
Open your book and read the psalms.

You plus me is equal to we
And, equality starts with you and me
Let’s unite and be as one
‘Coz we are human, not only you, man.

GUIDING PHILOSOPHY AS A TEACHER by Abdola M. Salipada

GUIDING PHILOSOPHY AS A TEACHER
by Abdola M. Salipada

In English, “I don’t want to be a teacher, I’m so tired getting back to school. I’m tired of telling off the students.” Yeah, I admit that I said it to myself way back when I was in my elementary and high school days. Those really are my intuitions about being a teacher. And, I can’t believe myself that I’ll become a teacher someday, inshallah or in God’s will. I think they’re right that when you hate something, you will get it or you will be that thing. I really can’t imagine I enrolled in program of education.

I grew up in a poor community and poor family in terms of financial aspects. I observed the life of having no education to some. As a future teacher, I just want my students to learn that they should finish their studies and find a descent job for theirselves, and for their family. I just want them to be reminded everytime I teach a lesson. I want to be a teacher with purpose, a teacher who uplift the students and feel that they really breath to chase their dreams because I believe everything will come true with courage and faith.

Growing up also in a loving and sensitive family led me to hurt no one. What I want for my students is not to hurt them or offend them in terms of very sensitive matters. I don’t want them to be hurt by pointing out or by discriminating of what they believed in, just like their faith to their religion. Because, I’ve already experienced it on how some people react to my faith, as a Muslim, and I know how offensive it was. I just want nobody hurt somebody just because of what he or she stands with. I want my students to be good on their classmates, teachers, and as well to their parents. Yeah, I know it is hard to do but I will try it with all my might.

As a teacher, it is my duty to encourage my students, and as well as myself to do better. I believe that I will not too strict. I want them (students) to laugh, and to see their smiles because I don’t even know what their lives inside their home. Maybe some of them are suffering for depression, stress, or maybe they are very cheerless, at least I did my part to make their day a bright one. I firmly believe in a saying, “A day without a laugh is a day wasted.”

My college life maybe led me to embrace the value of being a teacher. I come to realize that being a teacher is like being a widow with so many children in different fathers. I will do my best to change the quote in the first paragraph into, “Gusto jud ko magteacher, nindot magbalik-balik sa eskwelahan. Makalingaw sige’g pamadlong sa mga estudyante.” In English, “I really want to be a teacher, I like getting back to school. I enjoyed lecturing the students.”

Reflection for Introduction to World Religion and Belief System Grade XI GAS

Reflection
by Abdola Mariano

My journey through the lessons of Introduction to World Religion and Belief System enable me to learn  and identify the beliefs and practices of the top ten largest religions in the world, and which are the religions belong to monotheist, polytheist, and atheist. I learned the Jewish beliefs about messiah and views about human nature, what is the meaning of  torah observant and karaite. I also learned more about Islam and why do Muslims go to Mecca. Because I am a Muslim and the  reporter of this topic , I am responsible to research about it and share to others especially to my classmates.

Moreover, I also picked up the eight fast facts about the Christianity,  the idea of covenant, what is the God's promises, what is the meaning of Jesus' sacrifice, about the mistranslated verses referring to Jesus and the basic Hindu beliefs. Also, knowing the meaning of alma, beliefs of Taoism, Baha'ism, Shintoism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism, Cunfucianism, and the thirteenth Rambam's principle of faith are part of my learnings.

I am so thankful and blessed for what I've learned through our lessons in Introduction to World Religion and Belief System. Although, some of my quizzes, activities, and examinations wasn't able to get a high score, the most important is I learned so much and that is the best part of a student, to learn something new.

Overall, I realized  that one of the most important things that we need to do and we need to  put in our mind, heart and soul is  even though we are not the same religion, we should respect, love, accept, and value each other  in this whole world. Because, I know and  we all know that religion is not the one who will save us at the end of the day, but our faith, prayer, and doing good in this world  will the one that matters and the one who prevails.

Reflection for General Mathematics Grade XI GAS

Reflection
by Abdola Mariano

Some people said that Mathematics is a mind-numbing subject. But, for me, if you put your mind and heart on it, it's not mind-numbing it's fun and interesting.

Then, I thought that Mathematics of grade XI is difficult to understand and hard to solve because it is now general. But, I was wrong.  I was definitely wrong. It is really far and opposite to what I expected to be.

First day of school, I already learned new things.  I  learned the seven habits of highly effective people, by Stephen Covey. These seven habits  made me realized that I should practice it everyday even when I'm not at school. Because, it can help us to be a responsible person in every task we have. And this responsible person might become a successful human being.

In addition, move on to our lesson, I discovered and learned what are the functions, domains, and how to convert English units to SI units. I also learned how to convert and solve the temperature from degree Fahrenheit to degree Celsius and vice-versa. Computing, and finding maturity value, present value, future value, how to determine the amount of principal, rate, time and solving annuity using long and short method are part of my learnings.

Furthermore, I learned a lot not just in our general Mathematics subject but also in everyday. Because, our teacher, Mrs. Magbanua taught  us everyday some precious lessons. Just like, you must study your lessons so that during examination you have  an answer that you will going to write on your test paper.

And, all those things will be nothing without the help and without the encouragement of our courageous teacher, Mrs. Antonieta V. Magbanua.
