Reflection
by Abdola Mariano
My journey through the lessons of Introduction to World Religion and Belief System enable me to learn and identify the beliefs and practices of the top ten largest religions in the world, and which are the religions belong to monotheist, polytheist, and atheist. I learned the Jewish beliefs about messiah and views about human nature, what is the meaning of torah observant and karaite. I also learned more about Islam and why do Muslims go to Mecca. Because I am a Muslim and the reporter of this topic , I am responsible to research about it and share to others especially to my classmates.
Moreover, I also picked up the eight fast facts about the Christianity, the idea of covenant, what is the God's promises, what is the meaning of Jesus' sacrifice, about the mistranslated verses referring to Jesus and the basic Hindu beliefs. Also, knowing the meaning of alma, beliefs of Taoism, Baha'ism, Shintoism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism, Cunfucianism, and the thirteenth Rambam's principle of faith are part of my learnings.
I am so thankful and blessed for what I've learned through our lessons in Introduction to World Religion and Belief System. Although, some of my quizzes, activities, and examinations wasn't able to get a high score, the most important is I learned so much and that is the best part of a student, to learn something new.
Overall, I realized that one of the most important things that we need to do and we need to put in our mind, heart and soul is even though we are not the same religion, we should respect, love, accept, and value each other in this whole world. Because, I know and we all know that religion is not the one who will save us at the end of the day, but our faith, prayer, and doing good in this world will the one that matters and the one who prevails.
